As soon as the cork is removed, the aromatics of the 1999 DMD begin to fill the room! Notes of raspberry, pomegranate, blood orange and fresh cut cedar are prominent in the bouquet. At first sip, currants, rhubarb, baked cherries, braised prunes and toasted brown sugar intrigue the pallet. Subtle notes of spearmint, leather and delightfully chewy tannins form the backbone of this bottle. The fruit and earth components, along with beautifully bright acidity and a rich finish, make this an incredibly balanced bottle of wine.
